Linkbuilding
A Research-First Approach to Link Building
I’ve spent more than a decade building links through research, targeted outreach, and real editorial opportunities. Rather than relying on paid placement lists or the same group of publishers, I look for websites where there is a genuine reason for your business, content or resource to be referenced.
01 | Research & Prospecting
Every campaign starts with research. I analyze competitors, backlink profiles, search results, and related topics to uncover opportunities that aren’t always obvious. This can include universities, schools, libraries, industry organizations, resource pages, technical communities, editorial websites, and niche-specific sites.
02 | Vetting
I don’t judge a link by DR alone. I look at relevance, organic visibility, editorial quality, the site’s outbound linking practices, and whether the placement makes sense for an actual visitor. A highly relevant niche resource can be more valuable than a high-metric website with little connection to your business.
03 | Targeted Outreach
Outreach is tailored to the website and opportunity. Depending on the prospect, that might mean recommending an existing resource, identifying a broken or outdated link, suggesting an addition to a resource page, reclaiming an unlinked mention, or finding another legitimate reason to reference your site.
04 | Earning the Link
The goal is simple: give the website a good reason to link. Sometimes the right resource already exists. Other times, prospecting reveals a content gap and an opportunity to create something worth referencing. Either way, the focus is on earning links that fit naturally into useful, relevant content.
Why Work With Me?
More than a decade of experience: since 2012 I’ve worked on link building and SEO campaigns across a wide range of industries and learned what makes both outreach and linkable content work.
Custom research: I don’t recycle the same publisher list between clients. Each campaign is researched around your website, competitors, audience, content, and industry.
Hard-to-find opportunities: My research regularly extends beyond traditional blogs and publishers to universities, schools, libraries, organizations, technical resources, and other sources that aren’t typically found in link marketplaces.
Quality over metrics: DR and other SEO metrics are useful, but they don’t determine whether a link is worth pursuing. Relevance, traffic, editorial quality, placement, and the website itself matter more.
No link farms: I’m interested in real websites with real audiences and a legitimate reason to reference your business, not sites created primarily to sell backlinks.
Transparent reporting: You’ll know what links were acquired, where they came from, and which pages they point to.
